Cookie Policy

Short version: we set no non-essential cookies. The only browser storage we use is a handful of functional items kept on your own device.

Working draft. A plain-language draft, not legal advice. It should be reviewed by a qualified professional, and the inventory below re-confirmed against the live build, before it is relied upon.

1. Summary

Verity does not set advertising, marketing or cross-site tracking cookies, and it does not use non-essential cookies by default. To keep a few features working, it stores a small amount of data in your browser’s local storage — on your device, not on our servers. Because there are no non-essential cookies, we don’t interrupt you with a consent banner.

2. Cookies vs local storage

Cookies are small files a site can store and send back to a server with each request. Local storage is a browser feature that keeps data on your device and is not automatically sent anywhere. Verity relies on local storage for functional purposes and does not send it to us.

3. What this site stores

These functional items may be saved in your browser. They are essential to the features you choose to use and contain no advertising identifiers:

  • Cookie & privacy preferences — remembers your optional choices so we don’t ask again.
  • Opportunity-scan progress — saves your diagnostic answers so you can continue or restart.
  • Application draft — keeps an advisory-application draft on your device so you don’t lose it.
  • Workspace preview state — remembers your place in the illustrative workspace preview.

All of the above stay on your device and can be cleared at any time (see §5).

4. Analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics — cookieless)

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic — things like page views and where visits come from. It is cookieless and privacy-first: it sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, does not fingerprint you, and does not track you across other websites. Because it collects only aggregate, non-personal data and uses no cookies, it needs no consent banner.

If we ever add analytics that do use cookies or personal data, they will stay off until you opt in through the “Cookie preferences” panel in the footer.

5. Managing & clearing storage

  • Open “Cookie preferences” in the footer to review or change optional choices.
  • Clear this site’s storage from your browser settings at any time (this resets saved scan/application progress).
  • The opportunity scan also offers a restart that clears its saved answers.

6. Changes & contact

If our use of cookies or local storage changes, we’ll update this page and the “last updated” date. Questions? Use the contact page.
